From The Heart - Getting Your Home Ready For 2015 ( The Bathroom)

De-Cluttering In December
Ahh yes, the bathroom everyone’s favorite room to clean. I’m definitely being sarcastic. It’s my least favorite to clean but one of the most rooms to keep clean along with the kitchen.
The bathroom is probably the least time consuming of them all, so you should be done in noo time. Remember, this is part three. We’ve gone through the kitchen and the living room, now it’s time for the bathroom. Sigh. Yes I know. Get everything you need and just get it done.

This is how to get your bathroom ready for 2014
In 5 easy steps

*I like to remove everything out of the bathroom and start with a clean canvas so to say.

 1. Gather all of the cleaning supplies you will need. I like to use bleach (diluted in water), Ajax ( for the toilet and tub), Scrubbing Bubbles ( tile cleaner for about $3). I recently ran out and purchased the family dollar version and it worked quite well actually. I also love Pine-sol or Fabuloso for the floor ( I add a few caps full to a bucket of warm water ). Lastly, a microfiber rag ( for mirrors), a regular cleaning rag and a green scrub sponge. Listo!

*Before sure to have your door and or windows open will using these products.

2.I like to start with the tub. I cover the tub with Ajax and Scrubbing Bubbles( you don’t need much )and I like to let it sit for a little before I start. Don’t forget to spray your bath tiles to remove soap scum and dirt. I use the green scrub sponge to clean the tub and occasionally I’ll use my broom ( it’s so much easier). Once the tub is nice and clean I move on to the tiles. Whenever I use the Scrubbing Bubbles I only need a rag to wipe the tiles clean, super easy! Last week I used the generic brand and it took a lot more work but it worked, eventually. After I wiped the tiles down I spray some bleach diluted in water right on the grout. Then, once again I let it sit and scrub with my green scrubbing sponge.

3. Next, Spray down the toilet with the bleach water and sprinkle Ajax or your favorite cleaner inside of the bowl. Scrub it down, wipe it down and BOOM! You’re done. Don’t forget to clean the toilet nob as well. * Vinegar is a great disinfectant and can be used to substitute every product I mentioned except for scrubbing bubbles. I haven’t quite tried vinegar to clean my tub and tiles just yet but when I do, I will let you know.

   4.  Next, I like to spray Scrubbing Bubbles on the counter and in the sink. I use my regular rag to wipe it down and use my micro fiber rag to give the  faucets a nice shiny finish. Since I’m already using the micro rag I go ahead and spray my mirrors with a bit of Windex or just a bit of water and this special rag will do the rest. Before I mop I like to bring everything back into the bathroom. Wipe down lotions, deodorants, tooth paste etc.

5. Lastly , I sweep the floors. Then, I fill my bucket up with warm water and add a caps of Pine-sol and mop away. Eso es todo. That is all.

*Light your favorite scented candle. My favorite scent right now is Spearmint and Eucalyptus by bath and body works. I don't have this candle but i do have the body lotion and its my top choice right now..

                               * Don’t forget to let everyone know the bathroom floor is wet!
