De-cluttering in
December
The Living Room Area
If you didn't read
part 1 of this series then go back and take a look at how we prepared our
kitchen for the new year.
Please keep in mind
that these tasks should be done consistently not just for the New Year.
Let’s get ready to
move into the living room area....
This room is probably
the easiest of all. By the way, while I’m cleaning I like to have music playing.
I've tried watching TV but it is too distracting. What’s your preference?
1. Remove
everything off of your entertainment section, side and center tables. Don’t forget
to look behind the all of your tables most importantly your entertainment
section as DVDS among other things tend to fall behind and collect dust.
2. Clean
and dust off tables. Dust off old DVD’s, home decor and picture frames as well.
Put everything back right away( very important).I Find that when I move on to a
new task without fully completing the
first, I get overwhelmed and lose my desire to clean. So when you've finished dusting,
start putting everything back where it belongs, right away.
3. Wash
windows and patio door if applicable. (preferably with a fiber cloth. You won’t
need Windex or any other cleaning agent with these cloths. )
4. Dust
and wipe down ceiling fans. ( I think ceiling fans are so often forgotten.) If
you have any portable fans, take those apart and dust as well.
5. Clean
the crumbs out of your couch ( especially if you are blessed with little ones).
You might even find things you've though were lost, never know.
6. Lastly,
vacuum living room area including underneath the couch, tables and
entertainment center. If you need help moving anything please ask.
